Live music cds are often overlooked, except by the true fans, but many cds are an integral part of an artist's career when the cd accurately reflects the performance. Rolling Stone magazine recently published their Top 25 Live CD list. Now, we're not suggesting that any of those should be removed from the RS list, we're just surprised the cds listed below couldn't make their way on. Not all are our favorites, but we acknowledge the importance and the high quality of them. Here's ten of our picks;
what we feel are obvious omissions from the RS list, by MNN (in no particular order)-
Yes, Yessongs
Peter Framptom, Frampton Comes Alive
Jackson Browne,Running On Empty
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Four Way Street
Misc Artists, Soundtrack, Original Woodstock
Joe Cocker, Mad Dogs & Englishmen
Lynyrd Skynyrd, One More From the Road
Simon & Garfunkel, The Concert in Central Park
George Harrison & friends, Concert for Bangladesh
REO Speedwagon, Live/You Get What You Play For
You probably have your own list, let us know what should be added.

It is not on cd but it should be, Neil Young's "Time Fades Away". And that is the God's honest truth!!!

I think I would have to sub in CHeap Trick "Live At Budokan", Kiss "Alive!" (even though it was 'sweetened' in the studio), Stevie Ray Vaughan "IN The Beginning" (young, raw and steamin', Stevie Ray at his best live!), The Kinks "One For The Road" and Iron Maiden "Live After Death."
--------------
Robert- thanks, Cheap Trick was on the original Rolling Store post that i updated, and i'm with you on the other three. great stuff! btw- check out Ray Davies new album and tour

I don't know if this CD should be in the top 25 or not, maybe if the list was the top 25 80's rock live CD's, but one of my favorites is Poison, "Swallow This - Live". I love 80's rock though so unless you love it too, you may not agree.

we love 80's "hair bands" :) .....great idea, seed us your top 80's Live Rock cd list and we'll post it.
thanks
